Washing and ironing news: LG tops sales charts

An increasing number of people who regularly do washing and ironing are snapping up LG equipment.

New survey data released by market research firms has indicated the Korean manufacturer enjoyed the biggest share of the washing machine market in 2010.

This is the third year in a row that LG has outsold its competitors in this field, having accounted for 38 per cent of all machines shipped across the globe.

Statistics have shown that the brand is currently performing particularly well in the Asia-Pacific market and has been the top-selling manufacturer in countries such as Australia, India and Indonesia for five years now.

Bosses at the firm believe that several innovative designs have helped the company’s cause, with eco-friendly inventions such as the Inverter Direct Drive motor proving popular.

“LG washing machines are increasingly known as some of the most innovative on the market, with their smart tech, great performance and high convenience all proving a big hit with consumers,” commented chief executive officer of LG Middle East and Africa Mr K Wan Kim.

Homeowners who do not want to splash out on their own washing machine may opt to draft in firms offering cleaning services instead.
