Comedian Russell Brand has revealed that part of the reason he proposed to pop star Katy Perry was because of her domestic cleaning skills. The controversial funny man said Perry’s kitchen floor cleaning skills at his mother’s house drew him to her and made him realise that he wanted to marry her. Brand, who stars in new comedy film Get Him to the Greek, introduced the US singer to his mother Barbara in London and was impressed when she cleaned up after herself. “I remember the first time she came round and my mum was making some dinner; mum’s clumsy like I am and she spilled some gravy,” he said. “I remember just watching how Katy very naturally went and got a cloth, got down and started cleaning the floor without saying anything. And I thought, ‘Ah, I like that about you. I want to marry you’.” The couple are engaged to be married after Brand proposed during a romantic trip to India. While Perry may revel in house cleaning chores, fellow celebrity Scarlett Johansson recently admitted that she hates domestic chores and prefers to leave them her husband, actor Ryan Reynolds.
