Domestic Cleaners could benefit from a range of tips on how to take the best care of clothes when washing and ironing.
US news site ABC4.com has published a guide with ten top tips to help keep clothing looking newer and lasting longer.
It advises that when washing clothes, they are turned inside out and washed in cool to warm water with only white undergarments washed in hot water.
The new provider also points out that whites can be made to look whiter by pouring one half of a cup of lemon juice in the rinse cycle.
Other clothes cleaning tips include spot cleaning clothes as quickly as possible after a spill, using cold water and dabbing, rather than rubbing, the stain.
As for ironing, the site says it is best to turn the clothes inside out first as this helps colour to last longer.
Cleaning the washing machine itself could also be an important part of washing and ironing.
According to appliance manufacturer Whirlpool, frequent cleaning of the inside of a washing machine is important to keep it functioning properly.
