A hospital in Scotland must improve current cleaning standards following a visit from inspectors.
Inverclyde Road Hospital in Greenock had been warned that it needs to ensure higher Contract Cleaning standards in some parts of the facility, particularly in the intensive care unit.
According to inspectors, there has been some improvement in the high dependency and coronary care units at the hospital which is close to the centre of Glasgow but there needs to be more done to ensure high cleaning services at the hospital.
Health secretary Nicola Sturgeon explained that the unexpected visit was the second time the hospital had been inspected.
She added: “The Healthcare Environment Inspectorate has an important role in helping to drive up standards.
“However, they also called for further improvements and the health board has already put in place an action plan to address the issues raised.”
