Green cleaning companies likely to welcome government decision

Cleaning Companies have heard that the government plans to ban all testing of household products on animals.

Those who pride themselves on their green credentials are likely to welcome the decision, which was made earlier this week (March 29th 2011).

Indeed, the announcement has been positively greeted by the British Union for the Abolition of Vivisection (BUAV), which has long campaign for the banning of animal testing.

Many professionals who offer cleaning services purposefully use substances that have not been tested on creatures and the new ruling should make this process even easier.

Home Office minister Lynne Featherstone confirmed the ban will extend to finished products and the ingredients used.

It will cover a vast array of items, ranging from air fresheners and toilet cleaners to paints and pesticides.

BUAV chief executive Michelle Thew was said to be “delighted” with the news.

“Our campaign has gained strong political and public support and we now urge the government to implement this ban as soon as possible to end once and for all these cruel tests,” she remarked.

A number of famous faces have indeed backed the campaign, with Sir Paul McCartney being one celebrity to offer his support.
