Domestic cleaning London: Teenage parties leading to domestic cleaning costs?

Parents may need to make use of Domestic Cleaning services in order to repair damage caused by parties held by their teenage children, it has been suggested.

According to research by insurance firm Allianz UK, cleaning up after house parties and repairing damage costs UK parents an estimated £14 million a year.

The most common post-party problems that parents have to deal with were found to be general rubbish and mess, broken furniture, trampled garden plants, stains on carpets and burns to upholstery.

Many fear that the rise in social network sites such as Facebook has added to the problem, with two thirds (65 per cent) believing that advertising parties on such websites can be dangerous.

Gareth McChesney, head of home and motor portfolio management at Allianz UK, said: “Parents face tough decisions when allowing their children to host a party and it is natural to worry about the celebrations getting out of hand. However if things do go wrong, it is important to have financial protection in place to pick up any bills for damage caused.”

It follows recent research by Halifax Home Insurance, which found that cleaning stains and burns caused by beauty products and equipment has cost homeowners more than £1.4 billion in the past 12 months.
