Volunteers will help with spring cleaning the Regal Cinema in Evesham as part of extensive renovation works, reports the Worcester News.
The art deco building is Grade II listed and is the subject of ambitious plans to provide not only a cinema, but also two art galleries and a restaurant. The project managers are appealing for local people to help out with a major clean up prior to painting work. The work will be familiar to those who have carried out after builders cleaning.
Products for the day will all be supplied by green cleaning brand, Ecover, a brand which prides itself on its ecological credentials.
Ecover brand manager Emma Bennetts told Worcester News: “We wanted to get involved and do more to help than just give away products and that’s why the Ecover team will be getting their hands dirty with the Regal team and taking part in this wonderful project.”
The Regal has recently secured funding from Wychavon District Council, Advantage West Midland and the Heritage Lottery Fund. Evesham born comic, Alastair McGowan acts as a patron to the project.
