Senior Business and Financial Analyst - Retail – Kuwait, Middle East

An exciting opportunity has arisen within one of Kuwait’s leading retail business for an experienced Business / Financial Analyst to join their innovative and thriving company.

The incumbent will report directly to the COO and will be responsible for financial reporting for the lines of business for the company.

The successful candidate is expected to meet the highest standards of completeness, integrity and value as required by management and the board. This position provides timely, factual information and analysis, making recommendations and suggesting possible consequences of proposed actions.

The Role.

• Work closely with CEO, COO, Senior Management, Buying and Merchandising, Logistics and Operations to provide financial rigor and support to business decisions.
• Provide support for our business development efforts through reporting and analytical insights on our business operations, trends, costs, revenues, logistics, buying and merchandising etc.
• Provide Intellectual guidance, problem solving skills, and data mining / modeling to support the strategic plans and processes especially related to stores, site locations, capital productivity, merchandising and overall operational performance.
• Development and monitoring of Company’s business case. Reporting on Actual to forecast.
• Development of forecasting methodology and modeling, including retail buying forecasts, sales forecasts, OTB etc.
• Assist in defining KPIs for the business as well as monitoring and communicating existing indicators.
• Develop and present ad-hoc analysis to leadership as needed. Costing and presentation of store opportunities, marketing opportunities, etc.
• Develop cost savings and revenue enhancing initiatives by providing insightful analysis and making compelling recommendations to senior management and equity sponsors.

Qualifications and Experience.

• Bachelor degree in relevant Business discipline, preferably accounting designation such as, CA, CIMA.
• 3+ years in similar position/ relevant experience.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to effectively interact with a diverse international team.
• Strong analytical understanding, including knowledge of commonly used statistical techniques and advanced Excel.
• Strong Data mining skills and experience with MS Access or Oracle databases.
• Ability to work independently, with proven flexibility.
